The leather upper of the shoe "gives" but still supports the foot. I especially like the cushioned inner sole. I'd buy more if there were other colors! Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I bought these shoes for a Fall 2011 trip to DisneyWorld. I wore them "right out of the box" to a large, seasonal shopping function. I thought I'd "break them in." There were so many people at the function that a non-paved, additional area was opened for parking. I was directed to park about as far away as was possible and still be in the same city. The ground of the parking area was covered with sharp chunks and shards of broken concrete which I had to walk on to get to where I wanted to go. For one who usually can feel the lines in a hardwood floor through her shoes, I was amazed. I walked as if on a thick Persian Carpet and didn't feel any of the concrete. FABULOUS. I call them my "ballarina shoes on steroids"! Will buy other colors. The reviewers who stated how comfortable the shoes are "right out of the box" were absolutely correct. I bought my 1st pair based on your reviews. Thanks. Wears this shoe: Everywhere!
