The Trager 500C Student Brief - dark olive - suits my needs perfectly. The bag is sturdy. I usually use the handle straps, but it comes with a padded, detachable shoulder strap that I use when traveling. This American made book bag is just the right size: with a larger compartment for my books, clipboard, notebooks, and daily organizer. There's a medium sized pouch with many different shaped pockets for all my smaller tools of the trade and personal knickknacks. It also has a thin zippered slot at the front that lines the whole front of the bag for items requiring a quick, easier access. Duals great as an overnight bag as well. And the low-key dark green color adds just the right accent without being flashy. Made of materials that last, last, last. I know, since this replaces a bag that was lost. That one was ten years old, used daily, and showed little or no signs of wear.

This is a nice, spacious, sturdy bag made of Cordura nylon, and as far as I can tell so far, it resists the elements well. However, it is not lined in anyway, so whatever can get past the Cordura, will get into the bag and on your stuff. Having said that, this is a comfortable and stylish bag, and for the price, can't be beat.

This briefcase would be a good choice for nearly everyone who wants to carry either just a little or quite a lot. It's my traveling office ? with room for a series of file folders, pencils, pens, and other necessary office paraphernalia. If I carried a laptop, I could find room for it inside. I often stuff my windbreaker inside it ? or carry a load of books in it ? or even a load of groceries! Yet if I don't have much to carry, it's not heavy.I've purchased new examples of this same case since 1991 and give it my unqualified recommendation. I only hope it remains in production for a long, long time!
