Reviewer: Boone from Dallas Texas Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked Although the shoe feels a bit narrow it seems to be stretching out just right. Went hiking last week in the Guadalupe Mountains and this boot worked very well even though it is not yet broke in fully (no blisters either! A first for me). I don't find it all that heavy as some others have. In fact, I found it just about right for my flat feet - great support. Thus, I will be able to use it for day hiking as well as with a medium weight pack. If you need good support this is a good shoe for all around use. These last about 1000 miles of hiking (not extreme), but up and down hills for hikes of 10 to 15 miles (sometimes more) in snow, through streams. My feet remain well-supported, dry and comfortable. I'll only buy Asolo boots anymore. I'm on my fifth pair. Wears this shoe: Whenever I hike. One reason I bought this boot is the availability in wide. I am hard to please for shoe comfort but the Asolo TPS 520 is very comfortable right out of the box. The quality is very good. I shopped around and compared other boots. The Asolo's leather is so much better! These are fine looking boots, too. They are not clunky and could be worn for casual around town stuff, but these boots are made for hiking! Last but not least, this Asolo is made in Romania...not China mass produced. Kessler from Upstate New York Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width This pair of boots felt very comfortable and true to size from the first wearing. These are well-constructed and heavy duty. They are a bit heavier than I would prefer, though. They did not require any break-in period, they were pretty comfortable and fit right. I had a pair of Asolo hiking shoes earlier, so I knew what size I should get. The only complaint I have is that there should be more protection near the toe area. After hiking in the boulder field, I noticed that the leather finish around the toe area was quite beat up, and I am not sure what to do about it. I expect more durability considering how much I have paid for them. My previous boots were Vasque Sundowners, and these Asolos seem to offer better support, but are a bit smaller. Good firm footbed but with enough flex to be comfortable, great grippy sole design. I've had them a couple of weeks and worn them around town and hiking and they've felt great. Highly recommended. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful: Reviewer: Steve from North Carolina Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width In the past, about every 4 or 5 years, I have purchased the Asolo AFX 535 (great boot). I miss the 535 but the TPS 520 certainly has been a great boot as well and has lived up to my high expectation of the brand. When younger and living in Colorado I used to buy other brands of hiking boots. Now having only owned Asolo boots for the past 10 years I can say this about their boots: 1. The soles of the boots (especially the heel) wear very well. They must use very durable material for the sole because they seem to wear about half as fast as other shoes and boots that I have owned. 2. Your feet will never get wet (unless you jump in to a pool with them). 3. They fit like a glove right out of the box and it is amazing that there is no "break-in" period. I have never got a blister from any pair of Asolos. 4. This may seem trivial but they have great laces. I wish I could buy replacement Asolo laces for my old pair of 535's, but they don't sell them in the U.S. 5. I expect them to last at least 5 years. After that I will probably use them when I mow the lawn. Viewing reviews 1 - 8 of 8 Return to product detail page
