This is my third pair of Vasque shoes, and I could say it has been another pleasing purchase. I do have to say I wouldn't mind seeing the salmon colored laces again.
Not the right Last

Until I bought this shoe, I thought all Vasques were made on the same 'last', the form use to shape the shoe. These are made on a much wider last than the Vasques I already have. Contacted Vasque, who gave me a list of those using the Arc Tempo last. The Mantras are made on a much wider last, the Perpetuum. If you have narrow feet, these are not the shoe for you. I tried everything, including cushion inserts and metatarsal pads. My feet hurt after 2-3 hours on a hard surface.

I bought this shoe for dog walks, trails, knocking around the yard....they feel expensive (though I got a great deal on them), well made, and extremely comfortable. I don't normally respond to 'Review' requests but these shoes compelled me to spread the word.

This shoe seems to be well made. Initially it seemed to be rather stiff, but it broke in nicely after a day of yard work. I wear a size 9 mens. These size 9 shoes are a size 42 metric, which is a bit short for my right foot. I have seen size 9 shoes rated as size 42, 42.5 or 43 metric. The width is a bit wider than the norm.

A really durable shoe and very comfortable. I like these so much that I ordered a backup pair for when my current pair wears out, and that's the first time I've ever done that.

I bought this shoe to work in Iraq, the tread is perfect for walking over rough terrain and I am about to buy another pair. Excellent quality, well designed, comfortable and hardly know am wearing them.

Horrible shoe, particulary for a Vasque

I've worn and loved Vasque shoes for years and was extremely disappointed by this shoe - it is by far the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. The shoe feels like it has no midsole injected into the shoe and no supportive shank. I tried numerous insoles to replace the factory one, but that didn't improve the comfort of the shoe. I found I couldn't wear these shoes for more than 20 minutes, especially when standing on my feet, without having extremely sore feet for hours afterward.

Greatest all around shoe for walking or light hiking that I've ever purchased. I've spent a lot more for shoes that were no where near the quality of these Vasque Mantras.

Shoe was purchase as I wear an orthopedic insert and required a large shoe (size 15) to accommodate the insert and Vasque was the only quality walking shoe that I could find in that size.
