I deployed to Afghanistan with these boots and although they were stiff and uncomfortable at first, they have broken in well. The terrain here is probabaly worse than what most people will put these through and after seven months they have been great. The only probelm I have is the laces broke about a month ago. The soles have lasted even though I'm walking on rocks every day, and I put in about 5 to 6 miles a day. These boots are well worth the price. As a side not you might want to replace the insole liners with some Dr. Scholls, trust me you be glad you did.

I use this boot for regular duty (police). This boot would of been great as they are comfortable in the insole. However, when laced snugly there is lapped seam stitching on the interior of the upper boot, adjacent to the lacing, that dug into the ball of my inner ankle. Its not too bad if they are laced loosely but that doesn't give any support either. Sort of defeats the purpose of a lace up boot. This persisted after they were broken in. If you don't need them polished, I recommend the Oakley SI Assault boot. They are light, comfortable, and quiet. I and the majority of my team use those for SWAT.
