Above the ankle boots are any styling of boot where the shaft rises above the ankle line on the wearer. Shaft height will generally measure from 4 5/8" to 8".

These are great looking boots...very trim and neat looking. I've only worn them once, but so far they seem comfortable although they could use a softer insole. They're a bit loose in the heel, but otherwise, they fit good. I went up a half size because I intend to wear heavy socks with them and I'm glad I did. That will probably take care of the heel problem. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
Wears this shoe: I bought them to wear in the snow.
