Walking sandals are sandals designed to provide comfort and support during short or long distance walks or during all-day city touring. Many walking sandals have technical features found in good athletic shoes like contoured, anatomic footbeds and cushioned, supportive midsoles that provide good motion control and stability. The interior of the straps is often lined with a padded material that helps prevent excess rubbing and blisters.

I've bought other wide shoes to fit my orthopedic needs. While they were pretty low in price, they all failed in quality and durability...until this pair from OrthoFeet. Truly made for people with foot problems.

Spring Step Sky Pleasantly Surprised

I first saw this shoe on a woman on a cruise I'd just taken. I thought the shoe was good-looking and, after complimenting the woman, inquired about the brand. I thought they looked something like my comfy Mephistos, but with a back strap. So, I purchased the Sky, not knowing if they'd be wide enough, since I really wear a "C" width, and have a bunion on my left foot, too. Well, the olive nubuck is forgiving, and the straps hit my foot at the appropriate angle, causing me no pain, just smiles. The arch is adequate, although not as high as on my Mephisto sandals. These were a good purchase for me.
