The term fur generally refers to the thick coat of soft hair that covers the skin of some animals, which is used in the making of garments as trimming decoration or as lining in footwear. I've worn this boot while walking around in single digit weather, in rain and snow and blizzards. My toes have stayed dry and toasty throughout. They also look great with jeans or skirts. These run true to size, so I recommend getting a half size larger to fit in extra pairs of thick socks. The back is lace-tightened so it also fits my wide calves. The only cons with this boot is that I wish it was slightly taller, and also, watch out when you step into tall snow drifts, as the back IS lace-up and a small amount of snow may get in through the laces (happened to me today while I was shoveling 2 ft of snow). Otherwise, I am very satisfied with this boot!
