This is a grain leather that has been slightly brushed on the surface to create a very fine velvet-like appearance. The texture of nubuck is finer than suede.

I really like the style of these shoes and they go great with skirts, pants or long dresses. They are a comfortable shoe, but not enought to walk around several miles. I wished they had them in smooth leather, but the material is sturdy and they are well made. I could have used a bit more length in toe area, but hoping they will stretch a little. I am a good size 8.5M, but a size 9 would have been too long.
Wears this shoe: church, out to eat, special functions etc.

I have scoliosis due to having one leg nearly an inch longer than the other. And so, I wear custom insoles and lifts in order to walk comfortably. This shoe accommodates the extra bulk and actually looks cute! At least, for a flat oxford.
