Closed toe sandals are sandals with some variety of strap or material covering the toe area. The remaining sections of the upper have exposure of the foot to maintain the openness characterized by sandals.

So pretty for a Keen - love my others, but they are a bit clunky and somewhat heavy especially when packing for a flight. The Whisper has fun color combos, great support and fit but less bulk and weight.
