Harness boots are a type of Western-style footwear that features a non-adjustable arrangement of leather straps around the ankle area and two metalrings, one on each side of the ankles. Originally conceived to hold in the spurs on cowboy boots, the harness is now a decorative part of the design that conveys a rugged look. Harness boots are most often made of leather with a range in height between 10 to 18 inches.
Western refers to any article of clothing or footwear that features characteristics of rustic, cowboy, or mountain style of the American West. Western style footwear often feature high shafts with elaborate stitching and pull straps at each side of the collar.
Dingo Harness Nice boot, feels a little big

This is a great boot. It wears nicely, no rubbing on the feet, but it does feel a half size too big. I wear a 16 so I was suprised to find it larger rather than smaller (a nice suprise). They are very comfortable for extended wear and the soles have a nice tread so they are acceptable during winter months.
