Cushioned shoes, or neutral cushioning shoes, are shoes designed for runners with normal to high arches who tend to underpronate. Cushioning shoes generally have a padded midsole with layers of extra cushioning in the heel and forefoot that provide better energy return to the body when compressed while helping absorb heel shock and encouraging a more natural foot motion.
About Platform Sandals:
Platform sandals are sandals with a thick, raised outsole where both the heel and the toes are raised, thus providing height to the wearer. Platform sandals may also have an elevated toe area with a separate heel.

I probably should have sent these back. The medium width is quite wide. Hope I can keep them on. Maybe a partial insole will help.
