Cushioned shoes, or neutral cushioning shoes, are shoes designed for runners with normal to high arches who tend to underpronate. Cushioning shoes generally have a padded midsole with layers of extra cushioning in the heel and forefoot that provide better energy return to the body when compressed while helping absorb heel shock and encouraging a more natural foot motion.

For decades I have been had a foot problem called "supination", which simply means that I walk on the outsides of my feet. Over a period of time, foot and knee problems can develop. By using special inserts along with the Orthofeet boots, my foot problem has greatly improved!! These boots are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The thick cushioning material of the boot combined with the wide toe box make my feet and knees very happy. I will definitely order another pair when these wear out!!

Have been buying size 12M J&M shoes for years. For the first time, the 12M did not fit. In fact, these shoes are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. Unfortunately, I tried to break them in over two wearings at work and the shoes are not returnable now. So I am stuck with a pair of extremely uncomfortable shoes.

I've bought other wide shoes to fit my orthopedic needs. While they were pretty low in price, they all failed in quality and durability...until this pair from OrthoFeet. Truly made for people with foot problems.

I gave this a 4 simply do to my personal taste. Having worn Nike Air Max for years until injuring my foot, this is a difficult style adjustment. BUT, it has the width I now need, and once I fooled around and came up with a two insole combination it is extremely comfortable for walking, standing etc. When I can't use FitFlops i am using these around the house. I have not tried them outside yet but plan to comver them with Totes and try today. They may be the only thingIcan use to cut grass this summer.
