Dakota Watches Tough Compass Clip
July 06, 2009
Reviewer: John G. from Bellflower, IL
I have had my Dakota watch now for about a month and really like it so far. I kind of wish that they could have found a different way to mount the watch to the clip, but I have no clue as to what that alternative method would be. The little black claws do kind of help protect the face of the watch in case you bump against something. The numbers are nice and big and are easy to read even without my glasses, and the functions are easy to set. I bought this watch because my skin breaks out when I wear a wristwatch in the summer. I get little red welts on my skin where the watch sits, and they itch. I would highly recommend this watch to prospective buyers.

Great watch, terrible clip.

I was really excited about this watch, but had to return it after not 10 seconds after opening the box the clip separated from the watch housing. I reattached it a dozen times hoping this was a fluke, but every time I thought it was snug, the pin popped out with the most minimum stress. Bummer!

Indispensable Compass Watch
June 19, 2008
Reviewer: Arthur from Tunisia, Africa
I find this compass watch so useful, that I bought this one as a spare; my original had the pins fall out after several years, and until I figured out that I had to SuperGlue the watch to its backing with the clip, I faced the prospect of being without it. Hence the spare. I find the compass function amazingly useful for the direction-challenged. The watch shows day and date as well as time in large enough typeface to be visible at a quick glance. It is more complicated than necessary. I don't use the stopwatch and timer functions, and FOUR alarm settings are perhaps unnecessary. Frequently it changes mode by accidentally touching something; a positive click button would help. The new big rubber clasps around the face may hold the watch better, but are not attractive. All in all, a terrific product which could be improved.
