These boots are lighter then my other boots. I appreciate the lack of weight at the end of a ten hour day. I was more accostomed to an 8" boot, but I've found the 9" cut to be no problem at all. The boot was comfortable from day one, and required no break-in at all. Time will tell if the side zippers hold up, which is where I ususally run into trouble with boots of this design. I prefer my boots laced up fairly tightly which might be causing the zippers to fail prematurely.
